MTB tour experience and itinerary

Our mountain bike excursions on Mount Etna start from Linguaglossa, in the Sciarramanica area, following the northern side of Mount Etna and continuing towards Solicchiata. Along the route, you will admire the 1981 lava flow, which we will ride across for a long section of the tour.

From Solicchiata towards Verzella, we will enter a wide area of vineyards and fruit trees, among olive groves and hazelnut trees. You will also see old abandoned feudal farmhouses, typical of this rural landscape.

From Verzella, the bike route continues through Mediterranean scrub, vineyards and ancient oak trees. It is a spectacular MTB route, where the most luxuriant nature stands out.

The route to Alcantara

After visiting the Cuba Bizantina, a small 11th-century Byzantine church standing alone in the countryside between the Alcantara River and the vineyards, we will head down into the valley. Through off-road trails, we will follow the river until reaching the famous Alcantara Gorges.

From here, after an interesting stop, we will set off again with a touch of adrenaline along an off-road trail beside the Alcantara River, enjoying a magnificent view of its course towards the sea. We will follow it as far as Giardini-Naxos, where the river flows into the Ionian Sea.
