Our Etna mountain bike tour leaves from Linguaglossa in the Sciarramanica area skirting the north slope of Mount Etna and traveling along until the area of Solicchiatta where you can admire the lava flows of 1981 that we will come across and tread over for a great part of our tour. From Solicchiatta towards Verzella, we will enter into a large area full of vineyards and olive and hazelnut trees. You can admire the old feudal farmhouses abandoned but characteristic in the setting of the landscape. From Verzella the route by bike continues through this Mediterranean spot alternating between vineyards and shrubs of old oak. An amazing route by mountain bike, that only nature knows how to give.

The Alcantara valley route

After having visited byzantine Cuba, a small paleolithic church from the XI century, emerging and remaining in the countryside, solitary, between the Alcantara river and the vineyards, we will head downstream, where we go through off-limit paths flanking the river to reach the famous Alcantara gorges. From here, we set off again, with a good bit of adrenalin, traveling along an off-limits path going around the Alcantara river that gives us wonderful views on its way through the valley to the sea. We will travel alongside it until Giardini Naxos and then see it flow into the Ionic sea.
